Bill Healey poetry, Happy Birthday Originality

Originality is one year old. Is it only me that finds that odd?
Surely originality is always new or am I just a picky sod?
But if East is East and West is West
Then originality is always best
Served fresh and warm like new-baked bread
Primed in the soul and baked in the head.
We don't have to be 'super' or 'smashing' or 'great'
Good enough is fine by me
As long as we turn up monthly at eight
And let ourselves and others BE
To sing; recite; to speak our hearts
Originality has many parts.
What the future holds no one can tell
At present we're safe in the Citadel
But thanks to Terry Caffrey and Tony Gill
Our voices once found will never be still.
